Namaste! I look forward to practicing with you.
I teach playful “Vinyasa Flow”, that promotes getting out of our heads and into our hearts. I aim to create a space that fosters awareness, self-confidence and self-responsibility. I encourage moving with intuition, whilst still placing an emphasis on supportive alignment. We are all on the same path, just at different stages, so I cater for varying levels of experience within my practice.
I teach weekly Yoga classes in Waihi Beach and Katikati and am also available for Private lessons and Corporate trainings. I was honoured to be nominated for Best Sports Coach in the local 2018 Community Awards.
I’ve always had a passion for health and fitness, completing a Bachelor of Leisure and Sport at Waikato University in 1998, before moving to Auckland for work opportunities. I tried my first Yoga Class at Les Mills gym in 1999 and have never looked back. By 2000 I was teaching Body Balance at Les Mills, whilst exploring the vast array of Yoga on offer including Hatha/Iyengar, Ashtanga,Vinyasa, Yin, Hot Yoga, Power Yoga and more.
I was invited to train with Twee Merrigan on Waiheke island for an intensive Energetic Alignment course, that really ignited my passion for Yoga, as a way of life.
In 2014 I completed my 200hours Yoga Teacher Training Course at Kawai Purapura under the expert guidance of Vincent Boletta, Dyana Wells, Neal Goshal and Karla Brodie. The course, influenced by Donna Farhi’s teachings, had a vital emphasis on the innate intelligence of our bodies, practicing the way nature intended us to.
Through the practice of Yoga, I am learning to live more presently both on and off the mat and I hope to inspire others to do the same.
